Think before you speak

I don’t know about anyone else, but I reject unearned guilt. I have enough flaws and shortcomings of my own, I don’t need to invoke my ancestors’–or anyone else’s, either.

anyone who loves tapas should never be mistreated.

There is a difference between feeling guilty (or not) for what one’s ancestors did and acknowledging that what they did continues to have consequences in the present. It’s not about blame.

Hi all

To be honest I am so over what was said to me but my point is and it still stands -

if it made me feel a bit shitty (and trust me I am thick skinned ) then maybe words that are not kind can have a big impact on people and it made me stop and think of others

just maybe there are people out there where mean words hurt and have an impact

being kind cost nothing - being mean is pointless

Conversely, being mean gains you nothing, but puts it certainly puts you at risk of losing respect. There is that old quote: poker doesn’t build character, but it reveals it. Whatever was said about you, Tiggy, reveals more about the person who said it than it does about you. That’s a cold fact.

You need to grow some thicker skin Tiggy !

like mine, mines like pig skin, nice and thick.

you can tell the lie in poker he will hesitate!

haha you have no idea how thick skinned I am - I will still smile no matter what !! life sometime throws you a curve ball I have been brought up to suck it up and find a positive but most important to give a ■■■■ a about others, I am lucky as it is in me to be that way but some people mean words can hurt and have an impact on their life so for me it is easy not to be mean as why would we risk hurting somebody as i see no gain

I do play for real  but not at the moment as all closed :frowning:

If you are so thick skinned why are you on here crying about a rude player ?? This site is full of rude players. Maybe I do not understand what you are crying about ??

I don’t believe Twiggy was crying…I think she was saying be kind to one another if you can, especially in times like this .

I get you. I was just saying, there will always be trash talkers in poker.

@3BetJoe

Big difference between trash talking & crossing the line a little to attacking someone & being a nasty person and trying to make it personal.

Phil Hellmueth often crosses the line a little & sometimes even his buddies at the table try to bring him back in line. TonyG usually just jogs over the line and keeps going way past what most would consider appropriate.

Part of the entertainment of poker is trash talking & banter but that & freedom of speech doesnt mean there shouldn’t be limits. Do you think players & people talking like TonyG should be given freedom to say whatever they want?

I dont play live at the casino but Im fairly certain if players are overly abusive to the dealer they would be warned &OR asked to leave.

Everyone deserves a lil respect. I think thats all Tiggy is asking for. That doesnt mean anyone is crying…

Yes I do. If he wants to talk to me like that in person, he should practice spitting teeth. Online, I have a mute button, but usually find such antics to be quite amusing. Here’s a few good things to say back to such people…

I’m telling mom!

I may be stupid, but I make up for it by being really dumb!

Well, now you hurt my feelings.

I’m rubber, you’re glue. Whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you!!!

The funny thing about playing back at them like this is that I can usually get them to mute me! Hahaha
