i didnt say it was just me and there seems to be quite few others makeing the same observation as mine , but iā€™m sure any number would be statistcally insignificantā€¦i do know one thing for sure and that is iā€™ll never support this site by buying any chipsā€¦and i knowā€¦thats insignificant alsoā€¦

Yeah, but no comments from the winnersā€¦

If a player ranked 2,500 sits down at Hagia Sophia (20k/40k ring), everyone at the table thinks that they are brand new or low level, just as they would with somebody ranked 10,000 or 500,000. The players who play there regularly know that a player needs at least 40m chips (rank ~325) to take a shot at those stakes (80m-120m would be better), so we know that anybody else is taking a roulette spin to try to win 1 pot and flee or is about to lose all of their chips.

Plus, from a skill perspective, a player ranked 250 at Hagia Sophia is probably a thought of as the fish at the table until they prove otherwise because most of the players who play there have more chips than that, and as the ranks get better it becomes easier to differentiate player skill by rank.

Rank is actually a reasonably good indicator of skill. Just like everything in poker, it is probabilistic and there are many exceptions due to unknown factors (new players, players who donā€™t play here much, players who only play low stakes or tournaments, etc.). Iā€™ve said this before, and as I have moved up in rank it has become more obvious.

There are 2-3 players who are miles better than the rest. Then there are between 10-50 (I havenā€™t played with all of the top players due to time/zones, my own small bankroll, etc.) who are extremely good at getting value from worse players and more difficult to exploit, except by the top players. Then there another ~100-150 players who are really good at crushing most competition on Replay but can be easily exploited themselves. Then there are a couple of tiers of 400ish players, and then there are another couple of thousand casual players who can win against the competition on Replay. So basically, if you sit down at a high stakes table, you are identifiable immediately, just as I am immediately identifiable as a target if I sit at the 100k/200k table, based on my rank. Players can immediately tell that they have an edge in bankroll and infer that they also have an edge in skill, regardless of whether your rank is 350 or 350,000.

My statement on rank is relative to Replay skill, not absolute poker skill because some tactics are very effective on Replay that can easily be exploited in other poker situations and the standard of play on Replay is not comparable to real-money poker, even at high stakes.

To relate it back to the fairness debate, this skill differentiation would not exist if the site were somehow dealing unfairly to promote action or favoring certain players (I donā€™t think any/many of the top players have ever purchased chips except as a way of supporting the site).

Well, how come the same players always get lucky, huh, explain thatā€¦

I always appreciate your comments, but I am not sure the conspiracy theorists know which side youā€™re onā€¦

County29,

Have you ever thought maybee the better players, play better ā€¦ therefore you will usually see them with better hands ā€¦ yes I know, but even good players go on hot streaks too ā€¦ Iā€™ve had days where nothing goes wrong, and more days where everything goes wrong.

Better than me, I donā€™t think soā€¦

Oh God, here we go again. Yes this site is a POS. Yes you can win but you will lose a lot to ā€œfantasticā€ hands and draws. Why? because Kumbaya does not sell soap. This is the same program used by original money sites that took everyoneā€™s real money just as they take your fake chips. Nobody will ever buy anything until something negative happens and the software dictates that it damn sure will. You can win but have to play like you know what is coming, which is the OMG finish. You canā€™t play real poker odds, so all this statistic jargon is BS leading to the main point, THIS IS NOT REAL POKER!. No computer will ever be. And the 5 trolls who answer your posts within minutes? DELISH! I have beat them all at this site. They are FOS! Enjoy!

If someone wants to put some time and a few dollars into this, Not only will you have great resource from now on. This could bring a lot of enjoyment if you find this topic fascinating

It wasnā€™t so bad until they became ā€œpaidā€ trolls.

I agree that this site is for playing poker but you need to abide by a set of your own rules.
Mine are:-
Never join a table where one player has 5 times the maximum buy-in.
Never stay on a table where bingo players are ruining the game.
Play 5 hands to see what hands you get or whether you are in the ā€œlucky seatā€ - then either stay or leave.
Any other rules you play by?

Edit: Sarcasm removed. There are 1326 possible combinations of hands in holdem, so looking at the first 5 is not a representative sample of how ā€œfairā€ your table is. You can play 500 hands without getting AA and then get it twice in a row. That is poker. We have all won and lost in very improbable situations on this site and in live poker, so letā€™s just get over it.

There is no need to buy chips, so why is there a need to complain? You get 2,500 chips per day, which is plenty to play one of the many games for 1k or less and win against the horrendous opposition in those games. If you just play freerolls for a month, you will have at least 75,000 chips.

Or complain about complaining?

Or complain about complaining about complaining.

I donā€™t see how my response is a complaint, just explaining why they are wrong, but feel free to be aggrieved if you would like.

Anyone who disagrees with you is wrong, is a complainer, and should shut-up.
Got it.

Joe,
I guess noone ever sued anyone for 1$ ( heavy sarcasm )ā€¦ or as they say, Out Of Principal ā€¦
Free chips or bought chips, ppl have a right to complain about a product, and like it or notā€¦ Replay Poker is a product, like it or not ppl like to complainā€¦ some also like to discuss and possibly debate productsā€¦ if you donā€™t make it personal, then it wonā€™t becomeā€¦ well FREAKā€™N PERSONALā€¦

Did it become personal? I didnā€™t think so. I never told anyone not to post or called anyone by any nameā€¦

This guy Whittaker seems to be suggesting that everyone who disagrees with him is a paid troll. I am allowed to tell people why they are wrong, arenā€™t I? Or why are they posting in the first place? Just to congratulate each other for figuring out that the site is wrong and that they know everything about poker?
