Bingo Players Ruin the Game/Fun

It doesn’t matter to me what type of player styles are seated at the table because I do the same thing all the time. Adjust , adapt and hopefully overcome any obstacles that will lessen my chances of a positive outcome of more chips then I invested. It’s not mandatory that you must play every hand so pick and choose.

You’re all confused on the point. If I joined a basketball league and said every time that the other team in-bounded the ball (or on sometimes when they in-bounded the ball) instead of taking it up the floor and running an offense, they just heaved the ball across the gym at the rim trying to score a miracle, would you all start to advise on how to beat that strategy, or say “wait it out,” or “adjust and be patient,” or suggest some other winning strategy? I certainly hope not because that would entirely miss the point of the comment. That strategy would deprive the basketball players of what they want - playing a strategic game. It’s the playing of basketball - or here playing of poker and the attributes of poker - that people want. When someone deliberately joins the basketball league and then heaves the ball up across the gym, most people would say that’s not the “basketball” experience they want and when the other players do it it ruins the experience. It is NOT a question of winning the game, it’s a question of the experience of the game. So all the suggestions that are geared toward how to win the game against the homerun donkey fish are all confused and misguided. Forget all your attempts to show off what you know about strategy and begin replying when you actually understand the issue presented.

I personally like weak players who bet preflop with weak hands… once you figure them out, they are virtually an ATM machine…

What really ruins the games is the site itself. I may sound like sour grapes, but never, ever have I had so many bad cards. Hand after hand aftern hand. When I do get cards I think I can play, bad beat after bad beat. Some are so ridiculous that I break out laughing at the impossibilty of it. Yes, it can happen periodically, but not hand after hand after hand. I believe if you never buy chips your days of winning anything are gone. Yes I know it’s a free play site, but why take the enjoyment of playing away from some people continuously? C’est la vie???

same thing here. its why I’m gonna stop playing. want real poker and real deck, get together with family/friends or go to a casino.

I live in a rural setting in NW Alberta, Canada, so that is not an easy thing to organize at will. I guess as long as the site controllers here are having a good time, that’s what counts. Good luck at the casino. At least you have more of a chance of having an enjoyable experience beint with friends!!

yeah I understand that. my problem is finding time to play.

The issue is you’re implying he went all in every hand when in reality he min raised a bunch of other hands and only went all in on that one hand. And if you think raising pre-flop isn’t part of poker you need to read a book.

Fish, I’m here to help you get unconfused. First, whatever “the issue” is gets defined by the original poster. If someone posts an issue, someone else can’t come in and define the issue. “The issue” is whatever the original poster saiys it is unless you create a different issue with a separate original post. Read it slowly if needed. Second, I am not implying anything. Rather than get into the unreal world if implication, rely on the real world of the actual words. You will see there is a parenthetical statement that expressly indicates “the issue” is not confined to only a situation where the homerun is pursued every time. I don’t mind helping you understand basics, but c’mon you have to help yourself a little bit with making an effort to read what is there. You can do better. Run along now.

Dude, the hand before that, you open-shoved more than 37 BBs with 96s and got lucky.

Looking back at some of these hands… limp/call, limp/fold, fold BB to min raises, then shove 96s, I am guessing that other fella shoved 93 to get out of the game so he could go find one where some actual poker with a little strategic depth was being played.

lol turnabout is fair play. he got lucky with 9,6 and other guy got lucky with 9,3. its alright for starbuck12 shove all in with 9,6 , but heaven forbid someone else does it with 9,3

You said it before I had a chance to. Also like to add I find his tone in numerous posts here condescending towards most posters that don’t agree ( with this new guy ! )

That’s called being card dead. Terrible cards almost all the time, and the one game in 300 where you finally hit something, you lose. Being card dead happens to everyone. It certainly happens to me. I am the absolute king of trash. I was card dead for a week (Christmas/New Year). My overall winning days/losing days ratio is 4 to 1, but over Christmas/New Year I lost chips every day. If there’s a more extreme case of card death than that, I sure as hell would not want to go through it.

However, it is a statistical inevitability for all players to go through severely dry spells. And these are lengthy - days, not hours. I’ve given up playing for the time being because I have to do other things in my life, but during October-January I recorded all my pocket cards. I have a sample of around 11,000 pocket cards. Result: The card dealing is random. There is no evidence whatsoever of non-randomness. Although it seems like a get an extraordinary amount of trash, over an 11,000-hand sample, the amount of trash is in proportion. To my utter amazement, the hand I received the most often was off-suit ace/queen.

Ockham’s razor: the simplest explanation is probably correct. Making a random card dealer is a very straightforward task. Making a dealer which is set up to make particular individuals lose is, to say the least, complex.

You’re “guessing” he bet a large amount in order to leave the game for another with more depth? Reckless guess. Perhaps he overbet because “someone was at the door, or his dog had to go out, or his kid was crying, or his wife came in the room wearing the latest from Frederick’s of Hollywood. Maybe his kids are 9 and 3, or he got married or divorced or won the lottery in 1993. Maybe his grandmother won a marathon at age 93 or he is 39 years old, or any of millions of reasons none of us understand.” With all the possibilities you earlier identified now you took time to “guess” his reason when you openly acknowledge that nobody but him knows? You posted a complete guess and suggest that more depth is required of me? Is completely guessing your standard of depth? C’mon, you can’t claim lack of depth and then post something about totally guessing. Where’s the depth in your analysis? Guesses…ha!

9, 6 is a better hand than 9,3. Your treating them as equals is a fundamental error. Please, if you’re going to post, try much harder. You owe it to yourself .

I’m a pretty good guesser.

I love playing here at replay poker… If you want a better experience, I suggest you try and join a league and try to make friend’s… I don’t think buying chips will improve your odd’s… I think folding more hands will make you a better player… if you only play prim hands in the long run, you will be a winner.

Did you not call him a bingo player in your original post? The term bingo player implies (or at least it used to) the guy is shoving every hand (or almost every hand). If he is a bingo player for shoving 93, then you’re also a bingo player for open shoving 96. Come play me heads up and I’ll help you understand poker basics buddy. Try open shoving 96 against me and see what happens…

Because they are essentially equals as a fundamental error. A few extra percentage points of equity for 96 doesn’t change the fact you’re still a huge dog if you’re playing against a decent opponent with a tight open shove calling range. You really need to study up on your poker basics.
