Cliff Josephy has busted from the Main Event.

Josephy had a pair of Kings all-in against AK. The river is the Ace of spades.

Play has been halted at the Rio due to a power outage.

According to reports in one spot of the Rio rain water Is leaking in.

Never thought there would be a rain / power outage delay in a Poker tournament Lol.

UPDATE: Play has been called for the night In the Main Event.

Donā€™t get me wrong - the casinos were absolutely out of their minds to accommodate his requests but it was still a slimy move by Ivey.

Did you have a chance to see the hand? What a weird spot to bluff-shove that big of a stack. If he folded I think he still had over 60BB so plenty of room to play poker left. With his talent, in a field with that many soft spots, I think it was unnecessary.

Good guy Iā€™ve played with also busted out, Taha Maruf. He is a beast when playing cash and I didnā€™t even know he was in this one. Some great names left in the field but it could be another relative unknown who takes it down, So long as Shaun Deeb gets busted out in the near future, Iā€™m all good - canā€™t stand the guy. He was worthless as a live player until this year so he changed something up in a big way.

**Added - Deeb was eliminated about 30 min before I posted. All-in with QQ to Alexander Ziskinā€™s pocket Kā€™s. Ahh, order is restored in my world.

Going to the break with Kelly Minkin being busted with A10o to AK. Mostly good poker but I have to say Iā€™m disappointed in the coverage. Its barely keeping up with the table they are focusing on and when it goes to other tables they arenā€™t showing most of the relevant information (stacks, cards, board ā€¦). Maria Ho is the 1 bright spot in the booth - even Norman Chad isnā€™t being as fast and witty as he normally is. Hopefully it gets a lot better when we are at the final table.

I think the coverage will be good on the final table.

Hope they keep Maria Ho on for the rest of the coverage throughout the final table. Sheā€™s a pretty good commentator.

Televised coverage done for the night. Did you catch the hand late in the session where Benjamin Pollak folded trip Kā€™s with his 8-kicker to a big raise on the river (KKA flop)? What a tough fold but it was for about a third of his remaining stack and he was pretty short to start with. His face when he found out the other player had AJ was one of pure disgust. He knew he shouldnā€™t have led out on the river and it cost him. They have to be running on fumes at this point.

Yeah that was a tough fold! Like you said theyā€™ve gotta be running on fumes. Playing for consecutive days has to be taking a toll on them mentally. Itā€™s probably even worse for players who have to bag their chips at the end of day short stacked.

Itā€™s all worth it though for the eventual winner though, to take their place in Poker history as a WSOP Main Event champion.

Tonight we will find out who the Final 9 will be! Late night coverage on ESPN2 from 12 midnight and play wonā€™t end on ESPN2 until the final 9 are determined.

Iā€™m rooting for Joe Cada. It would be great to see a 2 time WSOP Main Event Champion.

Cadaā€™s bluff shove gets though! Canā€™t believe the fold from Lynskey.

Something weird happened on the WSOP on my cable service. 2:00am comes and ESPN2 cuts off the WSOP for a pre-recorded tennis match then about 20 minutes later they put the WSOP back on.

I donā€™t know if that was my cable or the network but ESPNā€™s coverage has been awful this year.

-Marc

WOW.

Zhu draws dead on the flop. The final 9 are set. Iā€™ll post a list of the final 9 in the morning.

Wow - good night of poker. Joe Cada does look strong and I wouldnā€™t bet against him.

That was an odd fold. IMO, the decision needed to be made on the turn whether he was going to proceed all the way on brick rivers. The turn completed the straight for AQ and put a lot of 2-pair combos into Cadaā€™s range, along with all the better Kx hands. The river changed nothing so if Lynskey thought he was ahead on the turn, he needed to call the river. Similar hand played out at the final table last year between Blumstein and Ott where Ott called 2 streets with his pocket 8ā€™s but folded them on a brick river. He would have had the chip lead if he made the call but folded instead.

Did you see that Hellmuth won bracelet #15 last night in the 5K event? People can hate him all they want but he has 50% more bracelets than anyone else. Must be because heā€™s terrible

Apples and Oranges

I think Helmuth is a very good poker player. I know hundreds of people I would rather hang out with

LOL - probably true. I have fun with the people who canā€™t make the distinction between the player and the person. I look at him like I looked at Ilie Nastase or John McEnroe in tennis - great players with shall we say ā€œanger issuesā€. I also think he consciously plays the role to the hilt because that keeps his name in the conversation and makes him money. He also benefits by living rent-free in the heads of the other players before even the 1st hand is dealt. Its his schtick.

Thought Iā€™d help @Marc978 out and get the final table posted since coverage starts in about 2.5 hours.

Final Nine Chip Counts:

1 ā€“ Nicolas Manion 112,775,000
2 ā€“ Michael Dyer 109,175,000
3 ā€“ Tony Miles 42,750,000
4 ā€“ John Cynn 37,075,000
5 ā€“ Alex Lynskey 25,925,000
6 ā€“ Joe Cada 23,675,000
7 ā€“ Aram Zobian 18,875,000
8 ā€“ Artem Metalidi 15,475,000
9 ā€“ Antoine Labat 8,050,000

The top 2 have about 2/3rds of all the chips in play so its going to be rough on the medium stacks for a while. With the pay jumps here, all the medium stacks should be looking to outlast the 3 shortest stacks and not get involved in too many hands. Iā€™d look to see a ton of really tight folds by the #3-6 stacks. On the other hand, Labat will be looking for a spot to get it all in because he really has nothing to lose at this point. Its should be about the most stark example of playing with ICM considerations that we get to see all year.

If Joe Cada can build his stack tonight I have to give him a great chance of taking the whole thing down. Of all the players here, I think he is by far the most skilled, plus he is the only 1 with final table experience. Its all going to come down to whether he gets some favorable spots to play tonight. I also think he has his mind set on the win and not quite as much on just laddering up as most of the rest do. All these factors come together to make him the most dangerous man at the table, IMO.
