Slow play

just sat down to a ring game with 9 players, couple people were complainig about slow players .so got my stop watch out and started timeing the hands. i only did ten hands …not one hand took more than 2 minutes to play out…then i went to 6 player table and not one hand got over 52 seconds…now not one time during any of this did a players clock run out…so what exactly are you all complaining about…if ya dont have that kinda of time maybe you should try video poker…no people to screw up your free poker time…

Yeah, if you want a fast moving game, try tennis.

sigh… this is an issue that will always be up for debate - and that is fine  we can agree to disagree  i wish upon you a table full of XxdylanxX 's  i am sure that your stop watch would be happy for the overtime  and some of these “slower” players are NOT happy to chit chat while passing the time  as CaptDave2017 stated , anything to to basically irritate other players is all good  abusing the clock - perhaps BINGO hands are encouraged as well  but , i have to say , i would rather play BINGO here than tennis any day  ah… as a cig smokin granny…lol… BINGO , Poker , hell , even tennis - i put my mind to win  MY Granny was a kick ass woman  i miss her still <3 a good night/day to all  it is truly ALL GOOD

Makes sense to usually irascible me. Solid post, Renee.

sorry guess i have never sat to a table full of clock abuser’s always been 1 or 2 … but irratation is part of the game…and wether we like it or not, no one is doin anything wrong.i have personally been called every name in the book and i dont do any of these… if your winning, other people dont like it,no matter how you do it…

i dont know were to ask this so i will put it on here. the question is that most of the time when i try to play Omaha i have a winning strait or flush and the only say i had two pair or high card ace or some other stupid thing when i actually had the winning hand and lost because they dont call it right

Hi Hobo,

I have had the same feeling from time to time. What I do, and I suggest you follow suit, is that when you doubt that the call was correct, go to the upper left hand corner and click on Previous Hand. It will replay the hand you just played, showing your cards and the winning hand.

There you will see whether you are right or wrong. What happens to me every time is that either I read my hand wrong, or I didn’t see that the winning hand was higher than mine.

But when you find that you were right and Replay Poker was wrong, send the hand number to Support@ReplayPoker.com.

See you at the felts.

Sometimes players misread their hand because they forget that in Omaha you must use 2 (and only two) of the hole cards.

TY Dave  i still smile at your analogy of the “cig smokin granny” it has been a pleasure conversing with you

no need to be sorry whosonfirst  an open forum like this provides us the opportunity to express our opinions in an honest and friendly way  and you are right… many ppl “hate” on a winner  so…let the haters keep on hatin and us winners keep on winning

if you want thoughtful opponents, play chess

I have played on many different tables some slow some fast some half fast. It can be annoying if one player seems to
always run out the clock then folds. It would be nice if like a real casino you could request a table change. I realize re-balancing tables can leave you out of the action for a hand or two which is also like watching grass grow but it allows you to be on a table with a different group of players that might not have that one S L O W player. I realize that I was likely a slower player at one time when I was learning so I don’t get overly anxious. Other times if you’re in the small or Big blind positions it seems like the clock runs out too quickly. Sometimes there are timing lags and you wait for the cards to be dealt and the video is lagging behind the audio so you hear the sound of cards being dealt but there is a delay before the cards or your call fold, raise buttons are visible on the display. You get folded before you’ve had a chance to act. It is especially annoying if you had a great hand. As others have previously mentioned, patience is a virtue. If you’re in a hurry you might try a race car hobby. L.O.L. Another key is a good sense of humor. Good Luck at the tables.

I have played on other sites where you pick a Fast or Slow table to play on. Is that something that would work on here ? Just a thought !

If you think there is slow play here then don’t ever get in a live tournament because players will take 20 minutes or more to call hands. What you see on TV has been edited for time but these players are taking 10, 20, 30 minutes to play their bet.

The time situation is ok. Only a few seconds. Can sit for ages in real poker. One issue cost me dearly was to do with haste. Ticked box as if to check, pre flop. Guy to bet before me raised all in. I had a very ordinary hand I would usually throw away and I certainly wouldn’t call a huge all in with. Think it was K 7 off. But the timing issue is it was almost exact same time and bet lodged. He had high pockets. Just gave him a few thous chips. Pure charity. Very annoying. I know I dont have to tick the box but i dunno, it’s borderline glitchy.

As some of you may remember, I used to have a pet turtle named Fluffy, who wasn’t really fluffy, but looked kinda fluffy when he was wearing the sweater grandma had knitted for him.

Anyway, I decided to teach him how to play fetch, and carried him out into the back yard. I set him down in the grass and found a little stick, which I threw for him. He just kinda looked at me, as if perplexed. The girl next door saw this and called me a big dummy, saying that the stick was too big. I went and got the stick, looked at it, then at Fluffy’s little hooked mouth, and decided she was probably right.

Becky (not her real name) was so smart I wanted to rub her head, but when I tried this, she ran away screaming. Lots of girls did this, so I wasn’t freaked out or anything, but I did try to find a smaller stick.

I then remembered mom had this box of strike anywhere matches which seemed to be about the right size, so I went and asked her for one. I wasn’t allowed to play with matches, so she cut off the match end and just gave me the stick part. I was OK with this because that part was probably made of yucky chemicals that might have made Fluffy sick.

When I threw this for Fluffy to fetch, he just looked at me again, and I instantly realized I had thrown it too far. I got it and, after a few tries, ended up just setting it down pretty close to his head. I was thrilled when he picked it up, and after a few minutes, put it into my hand! I then gave him a Purina Turtle Treat as a reward, and his eyes lit up with joy.

OK, his eyes didn’t literally light up like some spooky monster or anything, but I somehow knew he was happy. I was eventually able to throw the match stick like 3 or 4 feet, and he would bring it back and wait for his treat.

Becky (not her real name) said this was impossible, and I wanted to show her she was wrong, but I hadn’t seen her since the head rubbing incident, so couldn’t.

The point is that it took Fluffy about 2 or 3 hours to fetch that little stick. This gve me time to do my homework, and maybe still watch Petticoat Junction, The Dukes of Hazard, or Green Acres, if they were on at the time. Sometimes, however, there was nothing on but game shows, which I thought were rigged, or some stupid soap opera, which I hated and wasn’t allowed to watch anyway, so I would just sit there patiently and wait.

So whenever I hear people complain about slow play, I always think, “Ha, you think THIS is slow, try playing fetch with a turtle!”

Glad you liked it, but my literary agent suggests that I stick with romantic mysteries.

When a Player Reports to Replay Staff about any situation that harms play it will usually be resolved quickly.

I sometimes see players deliberately take the whole clock, trying to be dramatic and make you think that they’re taking a long time with their decision. Usually they’re on AA or flopped the absolute nuts and are trying to milk the hand. It doesn’t really bother me but if a player does it consistently every hand, every street, it slows the game down a lot, and at an MTT, it means that the other tables are getting more hands per hour, which means that their top winners are pulling down pots faster, and will end up with bigger stacks than the players at your table, and this sucks.
