Hahahaha Phil is awesome! He wears it on his sleeve. One of my favorites is the one with the new dealer haha
I don’t know if I could play at his table if he blew up and berated someone because, I don’t think I could keep silent.

Well, that would be even more boorish…

Greetings Mr. Grmule,
I wonder how many of those 10-2’s he had to muck after whatever bets he chased in the past. Then the ones where the full house doesn’t make it on the River and gets mucked…

Our psychic was programmed millions of years ago in our DNA to astutely & with life and death vigor to first remember, then to react to real or perceived dangers and or emotional traumas, then it’s non incidents that remind us of the first set of negatives and certainly our strong emotional reactions to fears, real or imagined as well as our insecurities. Which I’ve quoted often here at replay… " There are a 1000 different forms of fear and insecurities that are the driving force in most folk’s everyday life"…
Next are the emotionally pleasant experiences, then non incidents that remind us of these pleasant experiences… If you want to research this for yourself, deep enough and long enough to convince yourself that these are actually the facts. Hopefully you can accept it a little deeper than your intellectual level. You’ll need a deep conviction of these facts in order to make perhaps, huge leaps with your focus on the actual components of the game you can have some influence over, then the capacity to not react to something that you understand, and why it occurs in game poker. That takes practice and a few simple mind exercises…

Here we go… Here’s your first… You ready ? ? ?

There’s no such thing as a bad beat in my world… The term is often used, to describe figuratively an emotional reaction to not winning a hand in which the last two cards played a major role in the outcome. When this occurs you are not reacting to the hand itself or it’s outcome. You are reacting to your expectations and not the reality of the game or hand… That one statement alone can end up helping you turn your game around drastically… You’ll also start enjoying the game again…

So you really do need to adopt a Leonard Nimo/, Spock approach to some of the aspects of your game…
“In critical moments, men sometimes see exactly what they wish to see.” - star Trek, season 3, episode 9_ (“The Tholian Web,” 1968) That’s 1968… What a Great year…

You would be absolutely amazed at what a huge difference this will make with your game and your bottom line…My mentors use to yell at me… You wanna be pissed off ? ? ? Go ahead… You have till the next shuffle is done. And that was it… I practiced that diligently until it became second nature… The unintended consequences of all this is, I spend much more time enjoying my game and the people I play with. I loved what it did for my bottom line as well.

In the poker business, when you’re making a living at the tables, these are your bread and butter players. The one’s that pay your rent and put food on your family’s table… They hit a hand like that, you better tell them sincerely what a great play they just made & what a great player they are…
Based on some of the information I’ve shared with you just now, you’ll understand how important it is to keep, heightening the pleasant emotional experience for this player when he hits a big draw, it starts to program and reinforce bad habits and plays that they will pursue to recapture those pleasant and exciting experiences.

In conclusion Mr. Grmule, “You’ll get more bee’s with honey than vinegar”… ( I always thought bee’s made honey, not eat it ? ) Besides, this approach will open doors you didn’t even see or realize to some wonderful friendships. In the the real casino’s you better find a way for a player to enjoy himself and keep coming back, and giving you his chips …
I remember early on, when some of the now legends , would unexpectedly plop down on a game so small, they had no business on it… They seem to do it to relax and jaw a little with the people and especially with the help who are working at the casino or with the poker circuit … I was willing to put every dollar I had into playing at those tables, just to stay on that game a little longer… I know there aren’t too many legends playing here at Replay, but it won’t stop the attraction of players who want to give you their chips because they feel emotional heightened and entertained or at least sincerely welcomed and spoken to when they come to your table to play…
So stay clear of the masses and all the loud chatter…Eventually you’ll stand back and watch as they keep saying and doing the same behaviors with the same attitudes over & over. Again and again, expecting some kind of different result I guess… Expecting everyone else to change and play the way they think they should or want them to, yet not so good as to beat them to much of the time…Kinda leaves a pretty small window for you to be satisfied in… When a person looks at it this way, in this context, sometimes they can see the absurdity of their thinking and irrational attitudes & behaviors towards others…
So stay out of the mainstream of the poker masses and the La La Land of some illogical thinking.
Dance to a different beat my friend, a much more successful drummer awaits to lead you… :sunglasses:

Don’t fall into this unfortunate trap…

Or you could be a Man of Constant Sorrow…
