If You Had a Theme-song

It’s better to sing along. Great song and here are the lyrics.

Nibblin’ on sponge cake
Watchin’ the sun bake
All of those tourists covered with oil
Strummin’ my six string
On my front porch swing
Smell those shrimp, they’re beginnin’ to boil

Wastin’ away again in Margaritaville
Searchin’ for my lost shaker of salt
Some people claim that there’s a woman to blame
But I know, it’s nobody’s fault

Don’t know the reason
Stayed here all season
Nothing to show but this brand new tattoo
But it’s a real beauty
A Mexican cutie
How it got here, I haven’t a clue

Wastin’ away again in Margaritaville
Searchin’ for my lost shaker of salt
Some people claim that there’s a woman to blame
Now I think, hell, it could be my fault

I blew out my flip flop
Stepped on a pop top
Cut my heel, had to cruise on back home
But there’s booze in the blender
And soon it will render
That frozen concoction that helps me hang on

Wastin’ away again in Margaritaville
Searchin’ for my lost shaker of salt
Some people claim that there’s a woman to blame
But I know, it’s my own damn fault

Yes, and some people claim
That there’s a woman to blame
And I know, it’s my own damn fault

This would make a good one. Spoiler: the song ISN’T what’s shown on the album cover. But, then, anything by Louis Armstrong is worth listening to, isn’t it?.

So many theme songs, so little time! If I had to pick one one, it would probably be “Climb Every Mountain”. The lyrics to this this song pretty much “say it all” to me.

Steely Dan had a rhythm I appreciate if it’s on when I’m playing poker. The name describes some of the play on the table… Pretzel Logic

Just read that “Tawny” Kitaen passed away yesterday, 5/7/21. In a little tribute to her and if one loves seeing big hair and legs (loved those '80’s songs). And, the lyrics are pretty good too.

In a poker game, how many times have you thought “Here I go again”?

I don’t know where I’m goin’
But I sure know where I’ve been
Hanging on the promises in songs of yesterday
An’ I’ve made up my mind, I ain’t wasting no more time
Here I go again, here I go again

Tho’ I keep searching for an answer
I never seem to find what I’m looking for
Oh Lord, I pray you give me strength to carry on
'Cause I know what it means to walk along the lonely street of dreams

Here I go again on my own
Goin’ down the only road I’ve ever known
Like a drifter I was born to walk alone
An’ I’ve made up my mind, I ain’t wasting no more time

Just another heart in need of rescue
Waiting on love’s sweet charity
An’ I’m gonna hold on for the rest of my days
'Cause I know what it means to walk along the lonely street of dreams

And here I go again on my own
Goin’ down the only road I’ve ever known
Like a drifter I was born to walk alone
An’ I’ve made up my mind, I ain’t wasting no more time
But here I go again, here I go again,
Here I go again, here I go

‘Cause I know what it means to walk along the lonely street of dreams
Here I go again on my own
Goin’ down the only road I’ve ever known
Like a drifter I was born to walk alone
An’ I’ve made up my mind, I ain’t wasting no more time
Here I go again on my own
Goin’ down the only road I’ve ever known
Like a drifter I was born to walk alone
'Cause I know what it means to walk along the lonely street of dreams

Here I go again on my own
Goin’ down the only road I’ve ever known
Like a drifter I was born to walk alone

How about “Running Scared” by Roy Orbison?

Love Gaga, the Danes and the subject matter, but somehow electronic music short-circuits my brain.
