I know how to take a picture and share/copy & paste it. I can’t do fancy clip art designs for team poker avatars. LOL!
I think Younguru will have a decent performance as one of the newcomers to RP’s most prestigious annual (WSOP-like) festival, but making a Babe Ruthian declaration on claiming the TOC is definitely ballsy given how many top notch players sometimes fall short of even winning an RPOS event to qualify. I had two 2nds 3 years ago (including the penultimate event of the series: the HRS Main Event…my other 2nd place was to the most talented -BlackWidow- in a long Hold’em heads-up battle) and thus agonizingly missed the TOC field that year.
I just remembered I had this archived. It’s a little long but you have to stay almost to the end which then became boring for me. Best to watch on full screen.
Thanks, Polki for your link which reminded me of it.
Luckily, I don’t hold grudges or Galak would be on my list.
That YouTube video just triggered a memory in me. I vaguely remember when RP used to have a Twitch streamer that would host (I think?) a weekly MTT. His name was on the event name and it was in Dark Red like the Bust The Staff! event is.
@Pos111 When I finally won my first RPOS event 2 years ago (a Stud-8 event that you also played in)…the RPOS Champion achievement didn’t light up for me. I sent a message to support and asked why I had not claimed the prize. (It was like the one achievement I wanted.) They stated that the intention was to only reward TOC winners but still gave it to me because the reward says “Win a RPOS event” (rather than "Win THE RPOS event). So, I would probably just try support and see if they will do likewise for you because you did earn it (and also got runner-up in the TOC last year). ALSO…congrats on collecting all the gemstones!!
For some reason I feel the need to be in a fancy chair smoking a pipe to be included in this conversation.
Probably because I have no street cred in this category, due to still being new, employed, and other obligations.
I am hoping to play this year, but we will see.
I do know @Younguru has a shot, but so does a lengthy list of players I have had the pleasure to play with here on Replay, I don’t know @Pos111, but she seems pretty bad a$$ from the times I have ran into her, keep an eye on her.
I agree with @Excaliburns this tourney will activate the sleeper cells both here, CardsChat and hopefully fresh players from casino.org, I see we are on the front-page drop-down list of a heavily trafficked website now. @Chasetheriver, Rob here is an idea, how about you make a forum entry for "Pick this year’s RSOP TOC winner’ and win 10k, each entrant would get one choice and no changes, all entries have to be submitted before Oct 10th, may promote forum and tournament traffic for the masses. just sayin
Nope, as much as I like the fact that Luke crushed the most wins in a quarter category in my league, I have some others in mind, I am not a big fan of GTO and believe a non-GTO/Exploitative player will emerge TOC champion this year. If Rob makes the list you will have to wait for my choice, because I am logic driven and a numbers/stats guy, and will probably wait till the last minute to select an entry. I need the 10k I am not chip rich like you guys. I do hope Luke proves me wrong, he is a pretty good dude.
According to @Excaliburns past winners list PP1000 was last year’s winner and that madmac14 was the 2022 winner. See the RPOS overview page. Just a minor typo.
Each year the Nordic Warriors pause to allow our members to focus on and play in the RPOS League of Legends and High Roller Showdown if they so chose. So from Sept 30 thru October 9, the Nordic Warrior tournaments will still be run; however, the results will not count towards the quarterly leaderboards so no one is penalized if they chose to focus on one of Replay premier events. The RPOS TOC does not interfere with our schedule as it is on a Sunday.
Warning if you do well in the RPOS we are going to brag on your behalf
Again, thanks for listening to our past years’ feedback.
Maybe you’ll reconsider one of mine from a couple of years ago of adding a permanent Hall of Fame page of past winners as a third page in the Toplists section. Currently there’s a Replay Poker and a Multi-table Tournament page. I’d like to see a Hall of Fame page showing the past winners for at least the two most popular Tournament series RPOS and the Team Championships.
Maybe you’ll consider it for next year?
It’s part of human nature to want to remember history and by making it a permanent page which would be updated annually it probably would increase participation in both events. Since I really suspect that most players truly want to see their names basically immortalized in print see @Excaliburns attempt in this thread.
My suggestion for the RPOS winner besides posting their name and the year won, they could include a unique personal quote of theirs. Something like …
2025 Smooth99 “I always Bluff in fact; I may be Bluffing right now!”;
2026 Smooth99 “I’d prefer you were seated to my right so that I can always keep my good eye on you!”.
