Why 8,6,5,4,2 wins 8,7,5,4,1 in Omaha Hi Lo?

This is the replay: Hand #1029820853 - Replay Poker

I would say the 6 for low beat your 7.

Well, If there was a hand of 87541 then 86542 is LOWER in hi-lo, but in the game you posted here are the winning hands: favouriteplay wins 3,800 chips with Hi: Two Pair, Jacks and Eights, tallies wins 3,800 chips with Lo: 8,6,5,4,2. Nobody had 87541…Unless you did and you mucked anyway. Moot point…

If you would have been able to have any card lower than an 8 you would have won low because your low would have been 7. Omaha Hi/Lo can be confusing. You were looking at the A for low instead of looking at the 8 7 cards for low. While the other player had 8 6 for low.

I see. Thank you very much!

Now I know the rules of ranking low hands. Thanks!

The High

The winning high hand in Omaha Hi-Lo is identical to that of Omaha High. There are no qualification requirements for the high, meaning there will always be a winning high hand.

I know the rules, BUT don’t agree with them.

You can always try and change them but good luck with that.

You’re looking at it the wrong way. The low hand is ranked based on the high end of the low and works down, it doesn’t start at the low end and work up

I know, but I SAY it should start at the low end and work up!!! Ha ha ha

Has to be dumb man rules.

Apparently you are very correct calling hi-lo dumb man rules:

I was really hoping to find out a woman invented the game, but alas that’s not the case: LMAO!! Have a great day Angelina!
