Showing cards when replaying a hand

That “PS” is a good idea…

A post was split to a new topic: Satellite Tourney

I have mixed feelings about revealing hole cards at the end of a hand. I must agree that it is a personal preference and it defeats the nature of the game if the cards are revealed. If you need to see them you need to CALL or PAY to see,
The idea of others studying from reviewing past hands played, removes the mystique of a players personal strategy and style.
I will often show my cards to prove that I was not bluffing. That again can be a double edged sword. It’s simply because I have not yet learned how to pull off a bluff effectively although I realize position plays a large part.
I have played for years at casinos and a few times a player that didn’t CALL asked the dealer to see my cards.
Much to my surprise and chagrin the dealer turned them over . The dealer caught a good piece of my mind as a result because that right is reserved exclusively to the owner (player) of those cards. Of course I called over to the floor man
to bring his attention to the violation the dealer had committed. It is a similar to committing a cardinal sin or a crime to which both have severe consequences.
I also like Sassy_Sarah’s idea of a drop down menu of some sort to be able to identify spectators. The lack of that implementation in the software is truly allowing to being a subject of espionage. After all its like a two way mirror at a grocery store or a bank.In those cases I understand why it is permitted. This has been an enlightening forum on a few points of concern and I appreciate the people who contribute their various thoughts and ideas.
