In the memorable game on June 23, 1984, Ryne Sandberg hit two game-tying home runs off Cardinals’ closer Bruce Sutter. Sutter was known for his effectiveness, having allowed only 77 home runs over 1042.0 innings pitched during his 12-year MLB career, averaging one home run against every 13.2 innings12. Sandberg’s remarkable feat helped propel the Cubs to a 12-11 victory over the Cardinals in 11 innings at Wrigley Field3. The odds of this happening were undoubtedly quite slim!:fire:

The longest televised hole-in-one in PGA Tour history was made by Andrew Magee in 2001 . It was historic for two reasons: first, because it set the record for the longest hole-in-one, and second, because it didn’t even happen on a par-3. Magee made the first and only hole-in-one on a par-4 in Tour history. The iconic shot occurred on the 17th hole at TPC Scottsdale , where Magee, still angry from a double-bogey on the previous hole, teed up his ball and let it rip before the group in front even left the green. The ball not only reached the green but also rolled into the group ahead, bounced off one of their putters, and redirected right into the holeAce! A remarkable 332 yards on a par-4, still the longest hole-in-one in Tour history and the only one on a par-4 to this day1

The 1961 Philadelphia Phillies played 154 games during the regular season, won 47 games, lost 107 games, and finished in eighth position. They played their home games at Connie Mack Stadium (Park Factors: 99/101) where 590,039 fans witnessed their 1961 Phillies finish the season with a .305 winning percentage.

The 1899 Cleveland Spiders hold the dubious distinction of having the worst single-season record in Major League Baseball history. They finished with a dismal 20–134 win-loss record, resulting in a .130 winning percentage . To put it in perspective, this would project to a 21–141 record under the current 162-game schedule. The Spiders’ disastrous season remains unmatched in terms of futility1.
