How did you use your "stimulus $?"

If you’ve had a sudden small-ish windfall like stimulus money, how will you use it?

I know from table chatter that at least one player is buying himself a computer upgrade. I’m buying a replacement hot water heater. One of my sisters is saving hers and another used it to pay off a loan early.

I suspect most would first pay bills, but if anything is left over what would be your way to spend or invest or save those dollars?

I took it to the local casino and lost it on the roulette wheel.

A new refrigerator in a moment of urgent necessity took every dime, plus extra $$ to get the local moving company out to our house to bring it upstairs since the local hardware store wouldn’t bring it into the house “during the Covid” and our muscles had atrophied due to Covid sequestration syndrome.

I guess I’m boring…mine went straight to my saving account…

I’m actually supposed to be getting my Stimulus payment in a few days. Plan on treating myself with it. Here’s some of the things I might do with it.

  • Might buy a new laptop
  • Buy some Replay swag
  • Buy other new clothes
  • Buy a couple of video games
  • Buy a few scratch tickets and beer

Whatever is left over I’ll put away and might go towards my next vacation.

Let me start by saying that I am not now…nor have I ever been a citizen of the United States. I am Welsh and my husband was British. He was killed almost 20 years ago. Neither of us ever worked for any company here. The only taxes I pay are real estate taxes. So…imagine my surprise when we both got checks in the mail!!! I gave the 2400 to the local no kill shelter, in exchange for a animal calendar for next year. I think I got the better end of the deal!!!

Oh I should add…I did spend almost 3 hours “tied” to my kitchen phone (no cell phone) trying to return the checks, and was finally told just to keep them, as no one had an answer to the question they had never heard before!!!

If it’s boring to be wise, then we need a lot more “boring” people in this world.
Some would say it’s nice to have a little something for a rainy day. I say it’s always nice to have a little something for a sunny day. I think it was brilliant thing to do.

Been volunteering for Years handing out food for “The Children’s Table” when they arrive to our isolated tiny Community. Bill and Verna Brown started giving excess Food from their farm to the hungry and it has grown to a Large far reaching Program. They ask for 5$ donation for the Box or two of food if a person can manage it. They adopted 3 children and fostered 10 times that. Truly are special people and proud to help them. I gave a nice Portion to Our local food pantry and to The Children’s Table.

If there was ever a good time for my TV to go out and basically die now was a great time. Here on my secondary property my flat screen TV in my room went out and I was only getting sound but no picture.

So today I ordered a new 43 inch flat screen. An upgrade from my 32 inch flat screen TV that I had since 2010.

I also ordered a new mini fridge for my room as well. Spent a couple hundred bucks of my stimulus money in total but I think it will be worth it.

Using a temporary TV in my room for now and the new TV should arrive Friday. The mini fridge should get here sometime next week.

I got my new TV today!!!

I already love it!!! I get thounds of TV shows and movies for free through Amazon which is great when there’s nothing on cable and the tv has great quality and sound. Definitely worth the Stimulus money I spent on it!

Bought my daughter and grandson a 75 inch Samsung flat screen with sound bar and subwoofer for the living room like I have. Didn’t know I was expected to have it mounted on the wall also. Looked to big for the room according to my daughter so took out the wall separating the living room and kitchen :flushed:. I hope the next stimulus check comes too $6348.56 so I can recoup my money. :man_facepalming:t2:. BTW, her check went to new living room sofa and loveseat. The things we do for our kids …
