When it is a guaranteed (GTD) prize pool, it means the prize pool is never less than that amount. And if the the buy-ins (min the tournament fee) of the registered players is more than the guaranteed prize pool the prize pool goes up.

When there is an added prize pool, the prize pool increases with the buy-ins of all the registered players.(example, the bankroll builder and the Sunday Million)
