Losing and the value in it

For myself, I see value in losing. First, there is the lesson of assessing the cards showing (I prefer Texas Holdem) sometimes I miss the obvious, and then there can be strategic losses. I don’t lose on purpose but you can give other players a false impression of how you play and in later hands use this to your advantage. However, at higher the stakes this becomes more difficult. My advice is to learn from your mistakes and use them in the future. Remember, this isn’t real money, only your pride can get damaged. If I get a bad beat that bothers me I leave the table, go play solitaire, and come back when I cool down. Works for me and play is more pleasurable which is my goal.
