First Impressions of 7_stud

I seem to have taken a different path than most of the posters, here. I played 5 stud, 7 stud, and draw for many years, usually at family gathering, after thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter dinner, but also with friends, and sometimes casino. I only started playing holdem a couple of years ago, but once I did, had no desire to play anything else.
what i’d really like to see is more bounty games with high dollar bounties, such as bounty glory, maybe with the buy-in, and bounty, cut in half, for us poor folk. Also, maybe the progressive bounty game, and something like the bank builder with rebuys, but with a bigger buy-in and bigger bounties. The main thing being that each rebuy also reups the player’s bounty.

Am enjoying stud and would like to see 5 card and raz added. The only issue is the dealer button covering up one’s cards in stud and the people that play the game unaware of the concept of it

First time playing it. Took me 3-4 games to not suck at it  Way too long game for such little paypout, which is a pity as its fun

Too long a game for too little a payout but always enjoyed the game. Easier to play the odds now that I have been playing Holdum for so long. If your card is covered, move your position and your not.

If you rotate your seat so that you play on the left hand side of the table your cards are not covered.
Hope this helps.

I think 7 card stud takes longer mostly because there are more streets, and it also seems like there are even more people that tag along through the first round or two of betting.

I think the likelyhood of a given 5 card combination being winning is very similar to holdem, if you take into account how many opponents you have at the point you are evaluating. I think the biggest difference is that with stud you have so much more information with all of the cards that get dealt face up around the table. Memorizing all of the cards that have been shown, and being able to recalculate odds and outs based on all of the cards that have been visible is the key skill. If you can’t do that, but in general have good poker skills, you’ll do fine against other people who also can’t, but have a huge handicap against the people that are able to make effective use of all of that additional information.

At a recreational level, I’d speculate that most people are not remembering all of the cards that have been shown, but in a big live cash tournament, I think you can expect most people sitting at the final table to be able to do that.

There is a glitch in format. When u are the dealer, the D circle is right over your 2nd card and you cannot see your suit. You can tell the color if red, but not a diamond or heart or if black, a spade or club. This can make a big difference in play. Just a suggestion. LuckyMTM

I have reported this glitch twice. It needs to be corrected. Otherwise, all seems fine. Love, LuckyMTM
