What the Heck is That?!

Remind me of a jig for bending wire. A knitting or weaving tool? Can a buy another clue?

looks like a domino when set upright like this but my brain isn’t allowing any creativity today…Gonna bother me until I know what it is!

Question: is the base just used for storing the round discs, or is it part of the training?

I don’t think the base is absolutely necessary. What’s important is the positioning of the pegs, always in some configuration of the six wholes, two columns across, using any number of the pegs in varying shapes.

totally lost me now…“varying shapes” ? Did you mean “six holes” or “wholes” as typed?

Holes. lol
This really is a hard one–The device is something very rare, although what it represents is seen in all public places (although in miniature) around the world, for use by a specific sub-set of the population.

It looks a little bit like this:

Poki, good observation–and close, as they say, but no cigar. There’s a very tenuous connection, as you’ll understand when someone discovers (or I disclose) the answer.

Isn’t that a braille teaching tool for the blind population?

Elvoid, your post is the first correct one, so you get the big prize: My highest praise! Well played. My grandfather lost his eyes–detached retinas–around age 50. He was an avid reader, so his first goal was to learn to read braille, which he succeeded in doing. This was the device he used to practice initially.

Well-researched, my friend! I can only say how very glad I am that I do not have to read that way!

Very well researched, Poki65! I will not be memorizing this anytime soon, but how ingenious it is, right?!

That was fun but exhausting :joy:

I hop someone elae posts something for us to identify. Brains need exercise!

Wow–I’ll try typing that again: I hope someone else posts something for us to identify. Brains need exercise (case in point!).

Alright, new item, again with the binoculars for scale. My husband says this one will be way too easy. You all earned an easy one! (I wouldn’t know what it is, but that’s not saying much. lol)

Can’t say for sure, but it looks very much like our old under the kitchen sink water heater.
