I try to be polite to everyone with whom I play. There are two reasons for this. In a congenial atmosphere, folks are more likely to make friends, at least casual ones and less likely to show ragingly unsportsmanship ugliness. Unless distracted by something like the new kitten or old husband, I try to congratulate every winning hand, and by definition if it was good enough to win it was a good hand. I try to wish those departing the game well.
The other reason is to encourage the weaker players.
And while you are the Center of the Universe, so is everyone else.
When worse comes to worst, click on the name of the offending player, then click on the little conversation bubble. And just like that you son’t have to see another single letter from that player. Click on the conversation bubble in the upper right of the table screen to silence the whole table.
It’s been my observation that when someone wants to insult or bully you here, you know it.

Sorry ; I do not think that it is so obvious.Hell,I try to yak 2 some people nicely but I’ll bet you that they think I’m just coming the ccuunntt because there are no other cues to judge my (innocent)comments. Consequently they are open to misinterpretation.Here is a gratuitous example…“Hi … er,R U A physicist?”.
No response.Fair enough.Later I was moved to ask something else,that,I must grant you,could easily be interpreted as a noise-up(it was not meant to be(at least not much-I cannot go into detail cos it would involve the person’s name you see))…but I wouldn’t’ve gone there if I’d received an adequate reply in the 1st place.Hey-sure one doesn’t have to press keys at all,but surely this is a social thing,so a bit of yakking is not a big deal…sadly it’s so easy to misinterpret.Bummer.
I totally agree with u cheetah. I take them to be positive comments and I reply the same way. it is all in good fun

Quite the adult response.
I’m all for stopping bullies, real life or online. But there is such a thing as seeing malice where there is none.
The world is full of scary things right now. We live in dangerous times (as humans have always done). But with so much hatred, prejudice, xenophobia, and real terror in the world, why seek insults on a free-play poker site?

Aloha All. Maggie Cat touches upon a good point. It feels to me like way too often in the world today folks tend to take offense when no offense is intended.
I believe that we are all being challenged in these times to develop the inner “spiritual muscle” to allow ourselves to remain at peace within no matter what is being said or done around us. Otherwise we have given our personal power away and will always be at the mercy of outer circumstances. At that point we are only in reaction mode and have lost our ability to contribute to positive change in the world. We then merely exacerbate the illusion of separation.

when there’s a n1, vn, etc. every hand it gets OLD. A good hand is a lucky draw… Now maybe a well played hand gets a N1. I don’t need a N1 every time I win with 3 pair.
I’ll chat all game, I love it, but every winning hand doesn’t need a vn, nh, vnh, n1 etc.
I don’t mind getting a n1 as long as the sender doesn’t get upset because I don’t send a tu, t, tvm ,etc
but they always have a snide remark if you don’t respond… 5 of a kind, nice in the casino when you win a few thousand, I’ll take a nice hand then.
Think I don’t know they are beig polite? Yes, to adnauseam,
VNH is polite most say it back and fourth in most games you will always get the people that play only for the win and dont care for the fun of the game so don’t take it to had and people dont tend to pick n a single player unless its a knock out game then if your the lowest them u r the target but most people who play are here for the game and bit of fun don’t take it to heart just enjoy your time at the table and put your chat box to notes then u wont see what any 1 is saying good luck in your game

To be fair, even if I like to chat sometime, just cant respond in time becouse usually play 3-4 room in one go. But do aggre its anoy me to if someone say to the winner every single time NH… BUT, its they choice and right to do.

If I have a flush and someone beats me with a straight flush, higher flush, or full house, I always say NH. If they say NH to me , I say ty. That is how it should be…
I try hard not to make snide remarks, don’t always succeed, but I don’t make them because someone didn’t say thanks. That’s just silly. None of us (well, most of us at least) don’t live in a vaccuum, and many things can interfere with saying anything, including the next hand finishing.
