Video: AA and KK @ the same time multi-tabling (same opponent)

@pp1967 Is one of the nicest regs you’ll find in Replay’s Ring games. I don’t actually know him but we’ve chatted here and there. Unfortunately, he ran into both Aces and Kings at exactly the same time, both against me. (Quick. Calculate the odds of getting AA and KK at the same, on 2- 9max ring tables )

Click the link below. I uploaded an unlisted YouTube video of it because I have a lot of time on my hands.

He’s on my immediate right for AA. And 3 to my right for the KK.
Two ring tables. One w/ AA. One w/ KK. Same unknown opponent?

DISCUSSION: How do you get max value for AA and KK on passive-limping 2k/4k 9-max Ring tables? Well , sometimes it helps to lose a few big hands with showdown at the beggining of your session. Just sayin’. Btw, Im anticipating critical analysis of how I played AA and KK in this situation. Let’s hear it @Younguru .

Hey, if you’re going to be complimentary of your opponents, you likely won’t hear too much critical back yourself. I would like to politely push back on the statement that you got max value in the KK hand though:
What happens if you raise to ~4x instead of limping? The small blind is still going to call, and it’s very likely the big blind and UTG limper are coming along after that. Now the pot is 16bb and you have a much greater chance of winning than when your against 6 other players, and the pot is less than half the size. You’re mostly going to be playing for stacks against anyone who has a hand in either case, but you take more chips off the other players by raising.
Simply put, you always have a higher chance of winning and the pot will be bigger when you raise.

You played both hands very well post flop though IMHO.

@lihiue Honestly when I mentioned getting analysis from @Younguru , I was hoping you would chime in. Your ability to say a lot and remain informative without ego is appreciated sir! I especially found your insight about value from other opponents an important reminder for lines taken from premium holdings. I look forward to future discussions. :cowboy_hat_face:

Thanks very much Dom,

I think what gets lost a lot in discussions about limping, min raising, slow playing, etc is not that those tactics are bad per se, just that they are rarely the most profitable. The thing that I often fail to acknowledge though is that those lines can be the most fun.

I’m not sure about the ego thing though. I have no idea why being seen as being good at poker is important to anyone, but it definitely is, and I’m not at all immune to that either. If anyone can claim that, @Younguru might be the one, especially for someone who is clearly very good.

Cheers

Well, this pretty girl shows no fear in the Ring, and is always the first to recognize good play in the chat. As for the cars , yea. I wanna say a 60s mustang Black w/gold stripes. Probably not even close. @pp1967 , I’d like to publically apologize for thinking you were a man born in 1967 with an affinitty for pocket pairs and classic cars.
