Tournament Ended Before It Was Supposed To

Hi everyone,

I couldn’t find the answer in the Help section or blog, and I couldn’t find a link to contact Customer Service, so I’m hoping someone can answer this question for me. I was in a NL Hold’em Step to 1 Million: Step 1 tournament ($7,500 ticket, Tournament ID: #6811962), and everything was going well until the last 3 players (including myself) were playing.

In this hand (#1152357245), I had pocket 3’s, and the player before me went all in. I took a chance and called; my opponent had 10J off-suit. Fortunately, I won, but after the hand, the tournament ended. I still had chips and was in 2nd place, and the 3rd player still had chips too, but we never got to play again, because the tournament stopped.

Was the tournament timed? Was it supposed to be cut short like that? I would’ve liked to have seen if I could’ve come in first place, but I didn’t get the opportunity. If someone could explain the process, I’d appreciate it. I’m fairly new to the community, so maybe it’s something I missed.

Thanks for your help!

Hi sheubahi,

The tournament you were playing had only ticket prizes and first and second prize are the same. As soon as you were down to two players the tournament ended since both players won.

Hope this helps…
Cheers!

Ah, understood. I appreciate the explanation. And, you’re right; since we both received the same type of tickets, I guess it didn’t matter which one of us came in 1st or 2nd.

Again, thanks for explaining!

You are very welcome!
