I’m a winning player at 50k/100k (and 100k/200k), not necessarily 500k/1m. But 800 big blinds is not enough to have a real chance. One bad beat would lose 25% of my chips against the best players on replay. You can’t just show up and automatically double up. I’ve tried before and lost 140m in a hand with top pair and nut flush draw versus a set. I need 2b to take a shot, though I will try 250k/500k when I get over 1b.
