Why do I have to click on opponent’s name to see his Rank?
Why don’t you put it right there and then? Like a green line in front of his/her name?
If the line is full, we we know are dealing with a guru.
If the line half green, we are dealing with… and so on.
This feature, in my opinion, makes players even better poker players by knowing the opponent’s strength.
I guess Fessenjoon is talking about the information on Player Notes. I’m not that interested in Rank. It tells me very little. As has been pointed out many times on these pages, Rank can easily be purchased.
What I would like to see on the Player Notes page is the date the subject started playing. It’s something I could add to my notes for each player, but seems like an easy bit of info for the “system” to include.
I’ve found rank to be useful, but only when recorded over time. So in the player notes while I’m folded out of a hand waiting for the next one I’ll type other players’ current rank into the notes with the current date (just month and year).
That way you see how their rank is trending, which is where it becomes useful.
If over a few months someone’s rank is (for example) 300,000, then 25,000, then 1000 (i.e., consistently trending higher) it suggests they know what they’re doing. I’ll probably tighten up against them.
If on the other hand it’s 100, 800, then 10,000 then it looks more like they bought a bunch of chips but are …let’s just say still learning the basics.
And when I see it go from 2000, to 1500, to 600 then suddenly jumps to 50,000 it means they’re probably reasonably good at poker but not bankroll management and they recently had a (very) bad beat at a high-stakes table (and are also likely to be playing tighter than usual as they build their bankroll back up, so I’m more likely to fold when they go all-in and so on).
So IMO when two players have roughly the same rank it means very different things depending on the general trend.
I think, it easy enough for anyone to simply click on avitar to find someone’s rank, without adding more features to the table.
Again someone obsessed with rank that can be bought lol
