I’m so happy I’ve found good friends here at Replay Poker! Recent research indicates that loneliness and isolation are genuine health risks. Maybe our time at these tables is, for some, like good medicine, eh?
Here’s a summary of the research. Maybe this info will compel is to get out and have good times with friends or–if that’s not possible–to pull up a chair at a Replay Poker tourney and have a great time with free chips and friendly chat.
Health Risks of Loneliness
Although it’s hard to measure social isolation and loneliness precisely, there is strong evidence that many adults aged 50 and older are socially isolated or lonely in ways that put their health at risk. Recent studies found that:
*Social isolation significantly increased a person’s risk of premature death from all causes, a risk that may rival those of smoking, obesity, and physical inactivity.*
*Social isolation was associated with about a 50% percent increased risk of dementia.*
*Poor social relationships (characterized by social isolation or loneliness) was associated with a 29% increased risk of heart disease and a 32% increased risk of stroke.*
*Loneliness was associated with higher rates of depression, anxiety, and suicide*.
*Loneliness among heart failure patients was associated with a nearly 4 times increased risk of death, 68% increased risk of hospitalization, and 57% increased risk of emergency department visits.*

I’m socially isolated because of Covid since February of 2020 so much sickness and death…Poker on Replay helps me but most are just as aggravated at the tables. The chat just isn’t the same …
Several double blind studies have shown that Replay Poker is ineffective in the treatment of hypertension and may contribute to domestic violence and road rage.
Poker:
Good for the mind and soul. Helps develop critical thinking and strategy for it is much more than a game of luck. Brings people together both old and young, both veteran players and newcomers alike. Strengthens social skills through casual chit-chat or reading opponents.
Only downside: You will have a sore behind from sitting too long.
So i think i would agree that poker is a good medicine
I adore casino, if you do too check this article out , it is just amazing to read. https://www.ced.org/blog/entry/five-interesting-facts-about-casino-gambling
Poker is a lot more like medicine than it is chess. (Life is also like poker!)**
Chess has no hidden information and there’s almost no luck. By contrast, poker is a game of decision-making under conditions of uncertainty. Lots of valuable information is hidden and there is definitely an element of luck, risk, and sometimes even deception.
Explicitly explaining to patients that there’s uncertainty and that we’re making the best guess based on what we know is necessary. I also tell my friends that new details will likely emerge (perhaps in one hour or in one month) that might cause us to rethink the decisions we’re making now.
I really think that poker is a great game and often play poker in the evening. Also like to make predictions at odds compare but this is due to the fact that I used to play professional sports.
