Pocket Aces are not always a monster hand after the flop here at Replay. I would rather bet huge pre-flop, without a huge $ gain, than loose to a person who is shouldn’t be in the hand in the first place, (9 2 unsuited), and then the guy has 4 dueces after the river. And i know i have slow-played here occasionally. I break my own rules.
People will also call with worse, so I think going huge is actually totally fine
I just make note of which players do this frequently, and if there are seats at the table where they seem to do it more frequently. What I find really amazing is where 6 or 7 players limp from the front, then the small blind limps with AA, and the big blind behind is someone that almost never raises preflop…
I think the simple answer here is that there are a lot of players that have not studied much about the game (and probably don’t even appreciate how much skill is involved in playing poker well). It might be something like: “I love playing a lot of hands; seeing the flop is where it’s at; even a hand like AA is just a pair; I need to see the flop before I decide what to do.”
Exactly.
I sometimes think they should add bomb pot only tables here - I imagine they’d be very popular.
LMAO:)-You play any online cash games lately—they have MANY bad players worse than here-I think it is because u just push a button n not embarrassed because we cannot see them like in a casino where play is MUCH better n tighter.
Mr. River-you are SOOOO right—flop the nuts n min. bet or just call until the end and make a lot of chips or cash. TRULY amazing how MANY ppl. here n cash games will go all in after flopping a monster or the nuts-i see it all the time, funny, they will show it here n cash games and i just lol as they only win the blinds or just a small pot----i LOVE trapping ppl. when i flop a monster and then BOOM on the river:)…
@bill8888 it’s possible these players just have a more balanced strategy than you do. If you rarely bluff, or rarely bet big with less than the nuts, you will feel pressure to take the line you endorse (bet small until the end, then go big on the river once the pot has grown) because otherwise everyone will just fold since you “obviously have it”
On the other hand, if you have plenty of bluffs and big non-nutted bets in your range, it’s actually quite important to at least sometimes fastplay your nutted hands, as well. I would think the reason for this is obvious so I will leave it at that.
rt 2 make a lot of chips (or cash) —just the thoughts of an old man:)
