Can’t pick one all-time favorite but, this one, written by Neil Harrison, inspired one of my own more recent compositions(a ballad not recorded yet) about a HS sweetheart who dropped me.
Why?
She treated me like a king every time we were together but, I was usually too busy drinking too much beer at the time to pay attention and appreciate her for it.
So she did the right thing but, I hoped we would go on forever.
It’s something I regret to this day.
