Yes, it’s totally reasonable. If you’re waiting on a particular ring game table, why not open up a new one, with the same stakes and number of seats? Chances are it’ll fill up pretty quick, and while it does, you can practice playing short-handed. Good for prepping for final tables, if MTTs are your thing.
I’ll often play more than one table at a time. Since I usually play full ring, and I fold roughly 2/3 of my hands preflop, that helps me keep boredom at bay, and prevents me from opening up my range too much because I just want to play a hand.
