Your excitement is quite understandable, but only because you are an American.
the rest of the world uses the standard dd-mm-yyyy or yyyy-mm-dd,
hence we enjoy palindromes a little more often.
It was also the 33 day of the year with 333 days left in the year. Not a big deal, happens every leap year on Feb 2, but an interesting addition.
