Perhaps it’s not “the most exciting thing”, but it would be a memorable experience for most. I live along the Mississippi River. That said, I would take you “lighted bobber” fishing at night on the “Mighty Muddy”. You would walk along the banks of the Mississippi on a parkway. Keeping pace with the current as your bobber floats along the dropoff to deeper water, you would wait for that bobber to disappear. Typically you would have some sort of catfish (blue, channel, flathead), but you could also hook a walleye or sauger. How big? Who knows? You don’t really know anything until you get it near the bank. It’s a great mixture of excitement and spookiness, but it also calms you and puts you at ease. You would come to believe that “this is the way it’s supposed to be”.
I’ve heard there’s an old saying: The gods do not subtract from our lives our hours spent fishing.
