Losing, losing, losing

OK, so for the last 5 weeks - and I play two or three tourneys almost every day - I just cannot win. Whatever I try, I lose. I try being patient and still lose. When I get a decent hand (very rarely) I lose. It’s almost as if Replay have flicked a damn switch. Anyone else experience this? Should I stop playing for a few days? Advice please…

I must be on the same cycle as you…lol… hopefully they flip that switch again soon… gl

I get phases like that and it’s very frustrating, usually I take a day or 2 off completely and go back, enter a freeroll and play tight (as usual) and I find that the rest has freed me from that terrible cycle, of course it doesn’t mean that I win everything then… just I don’t lose every hand all of the time

Oh, I saw how you pulled home some nice chips last night, Sharon!
Congrats on that, by the way!

Yes, I back away for a couple of days, to lick my wounds and to forget how frustrating the game can feel. Then I roar back in order to–win or lose–have a great time playing once again.

Perhaps changing which games you play might help. If you’re playing a particular set of Ring games, perhaps try some SNGs instead. Alternatively, perhaps try some Freerolls and change your strategy. Taking a break or changing your style can sometimes bring some new knowledge to your play.

I have been going through the exact same thing and when i finally get a good hand it always get’s beat on the river, over and over. I took the last few days off as i was so frustrated so i will try again, i wish you lot’s of luck and let’s hope they turn the switch back on!

Yeah, I feel the frustration, and it seems as though every time it happens, it’s a player who’s just joined and ranked in the millions. For instance at a ring game…my hand, AsAd, raised pre flop gets called by just joined, million rank player. Flop is 3c Ah 7s…I’m at a set, AAA. Bet into pot with good hand pot raise, get a push of all in from the million player with a 4h / 6c. Turn, Kc, river 5h. Player who went bingo…my trip aces falls to their small straight. Yep, it happens, just uncanny how it always seems to be “beginners luck.”

While aggrivating, it won’t keep me from playin’…

last few weeks of poker has been truly exciting…luck point of veiw i was pretty much untouched for this period of time…yes of course to a degree of skill level and grinding it out but was very lucky…i say that for all that is changed in the past few days…
unable to hit straights inspite of having open ended cards on over 20 occassions
unable to hit the flush inspite of 4 of them in hand(2 in hand and 2 on the flop)atleast 8 times
Aq Ak being beaten by lower pairs and even quads
sets are not holding
losing premium hands to 37,4j,29,48 cant help these players they call with a raise and manage to hit 2 pairs on the flop with these pathetic hands.
bubbled twice
card dead completely on final table

so whats changed? everything…how does one explain this?

I had such a bad streak for such a long time that I went from 1.5million chips down to about 60000 all without tilting and still keeping a cool head. This streak just killed my bankroll like you cannot believe. I decided to take about a year break from Replaypoker and I am back up to over 500000 chips again. I seriously consider my slump just extremely persistent bad luck. If I was not a strong believer in science I would have claimed the law of averages to be false.

I keep having to remind myself what goes down must come up (eventually)
My peaks and valleys seem to swing back and forth around 80k.
I was very happy to finally hit 1M but it only lasted a week… now I’m just looking forward to hitting 1M again and not let it fall below that.
Welcome back and good luck stormiezzz!

Extremely persistent luck, good and bad, seems to be fairly common on Replay…which kind of mocks the word “extreme” which is supposed to mean unusual, uncommon, exceptional, etc.
