I don’t have a problem with chip buyer’s staying private BUT somehow it has to be figured into the rankings. If RP is going to rank players’ skill by chip count, bought chips should be factored in.There must be a way to do it fairly. As for public access to a player’s chip count and date of joining,it’s vital info to check, considering the all in yahoos who come in everyday just to test their luck and blow their free wad.Ya gotta respect the chips and any info on those who don’t is vital in how one plays with them.I love researching an all in idiot and embarrassing them. But that’s just me.

Greetings Mr.Nic & Replay Family,

After further review by the Referee’s.
It has been determined that the field goal attempt was short and wide to the left…

My apologies Mr. Nic. You were quite right. That was me wondering around out there in left field…Thanks for bringing me back safely Mr. Nic In full display for my Replay Poker Family. I publicly stand corrected…
This will certainly make it much harder to complain about being referred to as Mr. Magoo… :warning:

hahahahaha

Hi,
It seems to me that it never fails, if I happen to win a big hand, in a tournament, I will get berated. I will be snarked at,that I must buy chips. Either because I am a woman, perhaps, or that, I possible could NOT possibly have the chip count, that I have. Well, I play an awful lot in the ring games, and the high level multi tournaments, and even the high level S&G tourneys.
When, my luck is frailling, I back off, and play, smaller S&G, and smaller multi tournaments.
I really do not understand, whether, I have bought chips or not, some people get their noses right out of joint. Especially, when I beat them, lol. I can win 400,000 chips, in a hand, in a ring game, or be the 1st one out in a 10K S&G.
I am with the people that say," lets, cover our chip stack", and then we will all be on the same level, for those, that think, the ranking, exposes, just how a person plays. I know that how a person play is in question, but that is not whether they have bought chips or not !!!
Just my opinion. For my Friends that take me for my value, Thank You, Very, Very Much !!!
Jan.

It wouldn’t “divide” anything. You still have to play against each other but as I stated originally, it adds clarity for people who want to learn and practices ACTUAL poker because chip buyers ignore pot odds and thats a crucial component of poker strategy.

I also don’t believe people are “supporting” the site when they buy. People, especially gamblers, are self interested. They buy big stacks so they can run over small stacks for a cheap buzz.

I’ve not seen one logical argument against this idea outside of the site and its promoters finding the transparency too awkward for them to swallow.

This is one of those proverbial… “To be… Or not to be… That is the question”. questions…

This issue is being batted around more than a confused and drunken Serena Williams trying to use a shuttlecock instead of a tennis ball…

What I’m curious about is… Why ? ? ?
Why would someone need, or want that kind of information about another player ? ? ?
I’m curious, what is it"s intended use.
When I’m in a casino, yes I’d like to know. The information is important to me so I’ll know the possible tone of a player’s disposition and what directions to try and steer any conversations…
So, on this one I’m not able to think outside the box very well…:sunglasses:

I personally don’t care whether or not purchased chips are visible. It would cost about $4,000 to buy enough chips to get a rank of 150 or better, and a bad player would lose those chips almost immediately if they tried to play with them at high stakes, so I am not worried about thinking that somebody is good when they are not. My base assumption is that most players are not good, regardless of whether they purchased chips.

With correct bankroll management there is no reason to ever feel bullied by a bigger bankroll if you are playing within your own bankroll.

As far as showing the world each player’s bankroll, it is unusual compared to real-money poker formats, but since there is no HUD or easily viewed hand history, rank and bankroll are quite helpful for making a preliminary guess about a player’s skill. Maybe players feel bullied if they sit at a table where they are low ranked, but they can use that to their advantage by defying expectations, and they should not be scared if they are playing within their own bankroll. It also wouldn’t bother me if all of that information was no longer visible because it is easy to spot a player’s approximate skill level after 1-2 orbits anyway.

Just for the record, I bought 100,000 just to try out the new “Get Chips” button!
I wanted to make sure it really worked… So I don’t think that necessarily makes me a bad player,
but it makes me a sucker for a new button…

Our Dear Micki,
It certainly does not make you a bad player or a sucker… Although it may have looked much better in my books … If you just used that golden button to gift that $100,000 in chips right into my humble replay adobe …:
If you do find that Catholic guilt too much tonight for you sleep…
Replay’s open all Night… That golden button is too…:sunglasses:

Would make a heck of a resume enhancer if you were applying for a spot a NORAD. “Hey, what’s this one do?”

Dearest RB,
I had actually thought of gifting to someone else, but this particular get chips but does not allow the option of buying for friends.
To buy for a friend, you have to go to the main get chips button on the dashboard page.
So, thank you for the suggestion, I appreciate your willingness to be a sacrificial recipient…
Yours truly, Micki

Dear Micki,
Mirror, mirror on the wall… Who has the friendliest poker button of all ? ? ?

That might not be a bad Idea if replay thought about it… You’ll have to turn that in to the suggestions if you will, If you like the idea as well. It certainly would help Replay’s bottom line to have that kind of emotional impulse option for those who may not need to purchase chips themselves, but still have the urge to reach out and help others who are struggling with our game . They could also make some lower increments available for gifting as well…Now you’re encouraging and making it easier for players with another avenue of philanthropy that currently isn’t available in the course of a game or tournament. If you’re familiar with the theory of impulse buying combined with the emotional urge to help others. I’m wondering how much of a positive impact or refection it would have in our community ?
Anyways if you like it as well Micki, maybe you can steer this idea through the channels… :sunglasses:
