I was playing in a Bankroll Builder and I used all my coins. I did not have enough in my bank to rebuy so I went to lobby and chipped up for 2000. But I was not able to return to the game. Is this normal and did I miss a step on getting back into the game?

you have a limited time (20 seconds) to rebuy once you are at zero chips after a hand in a rebuy tournament, therefore I suspect you timed out and by the time you had the chips, it was too late. You are unable to rejoin that same tournament once you are eliminated.
