Hand For Hand On The Bubble

Go to pokerstars.net, sign up and play! then tell me how awesome Replay is. RP is a very distant 2nd and only because I don’t play another one.

hey Dog, pokerstars is a distant 2nd to Full-Tilt… as far as free, no d/l, sites… Replay rocks.
Sure Replay doesn’t offer stuff they do, but it stems mostly from a 100% free site, then a no download site. I’m sure pokerstars, Tilt, or Wsop have much bigger payrolls/employees.

Yes, I agree with hand 4 hand on the bubble …

@eclipsebigdog I thought I would reply to this feedback as I personally know both poker sites very well.

PokerStars is a good option for players who are looking at playing poker in real money and who are located in a country which allows it. The poker product is indeed competitive and they do offer play money games as a side service.

That said, the product offered for free poker is the exact same as the one offered for real money poker. There is no feature built for Community purposes (no forum, no friend list, no private mailbox, no friends leaderboards etc.). No effort is being made towards the building of a strong Community and there is none as a result. A good illustration is the lack of investment in a Community Team. Free Poker is not a priority for them and there is no effort made towards free poker features either. You will see some chip sales on a regular basis but you won’t see any free poker player rankings/statistics, recurrent leaderboards or leagues, tournament series, or seasonal promotions.

Last but not least, free poker has never been prioritized by PokerStars. They focus on the development of their real money poker, casino and sports betting offering. So I would not expect much improvement on the current free poker offering.

The bottom line is that players will play on Replay Poker and on PokerStars for very different reasons.

PokerStars free play is so much easier and has a better appearance. That’s my opinion
and I’m just saying try it and you be the judge, of course if you need on line friends and
social contacts and don’t mind a poker site for such don’t try it!

Like you, I too have played on PokerStars for both cash and chips. PokerStars considered the chip side an acceptable expense as it introduced players to online poker. Like me, they gravitated to the cash side. After Black Thursday, the site lost over 40% of its cash base. Most shifted to the chip side.

As a business, PokerStars needed to find a way to make the chip side profitable since so many could never shift to cash. The site did this in two ways. One, game times changed. Instead of a ten minute round for tourneys and SNG games, some went turbo, (5 minute rounds) or the hyperturo version of 3 minute rounds. Two, game costs increased.

I played 45-player SNG and never waited over one minute to get a game. Try saying the same thing about Replay. Cost of game, $1,000 in chips and ten minute rounds. On a bad day, I lasted thirty minutes.

Than the changes. Cost of game: $100,000. Time for a round, 5 minutes. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see what happens. Players bleed chips. You want to play in the better games? You must purchase chips.

Next, PokerStars gets a Facebook game, Jackpot Poker. This brings in the kids and the thrill seekers thanks to free chip give away offers. Never much, just to entice. Than they too sell you chips.

Result? Now both the cash and play sites are profitable. They ignored the chip player’s protest claiming they “surveyed” the players and they wanted these changes. They lied.

He is a big boy, over 21/2 feet from nose to tail. He has been on a diet now down to 18 lbs
His name is Thom 2 and he thanks you for the compliment!

*I have to recount, when I was in Southern California, I took my seal point Siamese Elliot to the vet which was run by an older man (chief, I believe) and a younger one. The older loved cats; the younger preferred dogs. Well, I happened to get the dog lover that day. When Elliot tipped the scale at 18 pounds (but not a bulge of fat on him), the younger vet pronounced, “You must put him on a diet!”

Let me add, Elliot was born at my house and was the largest in the litter. He arrived with bulging sides. I could no more put him on a diet than dog-lover vet could change his preference to cats. Elliot only got sick once during his youth when he nibbled on my sweater while I was watching TV one weekend; I took him to the vet, got the appropriate medication, and Elliot learned from his mistake. Never did he eat wool again! He was a hearty eater but also extremely bright. He would have lived longer than 18, but his friend Boomer died and Elliot mourned him so much, he had a stroke which led to his demise.

Elliot’s father was a lithe, thin blue point who was always coming down with viruses. He weighed 11 pounds. In Vegas, my vet has told me she prefers cats to have some extra weight on them so that
when illness occurs, they have some body weight to fall back on. I agree with her 100%. We’re not talking about cats who are morbidly obese for their frame size. Elliot was a big cat, but his frame was big. (I miss him every day.)

Good luck with your wonderful cat! Tess

Bump this one up - hand for hand would be a great addition. You could go nuts with people running out the clock every hand near the bubble, hoping someone on the other table busts 1st. Hand for hand dealing eliminates this annoying and unnecessary tactic. Its pretty basic/standard because it serves an important function. Any reason they don’t have it here?

I think Replay is waiting until they move away from Flash and have switched to HTML5 to implement this.

Like I said when I created this thread, I think hand for hand play on the bubble will eliminate stalling on the bubble and it will be a great addition to MTT’s

That would be great. Thanks for the answer. Any idea when that switch will be made? I’ve heard its been coming for over a year now.

Sorry, I don’t know when HTML5 will be ready.
