Game Bots?

Are some of the guest players simply bots? Many of them have the same pattern of play, often going all in and winning on some of the most outrageous possibilities. I understand that any connotation of cards can be a possible winning hand but its getting so annoying now that it just cant be guest/beginners luck.

There are no bots here.

You know that’s an interesting question. You don’t want to think there are bots and there are people who will jump in and say you don’t know how to play. You need to go to some sites, they recommend to learn stratagies and you don’t know how to manage your bankroll and all the the other reasons you get beat. I don’t know if there are bots on here, but one thing I do when I’m sitting at a table is to ask, if I don’t already know they are real people, because I take notes, are there any real players on here? Some times I do get responces and many other times just crickets. Even when I compliment them on their winning hands or smart play, there is no response. Now I know there are some real serious players on here that just don’t want to comment, but boy it makes one wonder how many real serious players are here and why,? It’s just for fun and some get the ego stroked and I guess that’s ok. Thanks for reading my rant and good luck.

Don’t forget that many people play on their phones and there is no chat available

Many free poker sites use bots.

Replay has stated before that they do not use bots.

After playing here for about four years, I believe Replay’s above statement.

My thinking is if they did use bots for many years, the top 100 players would all be bots

with all the chips. Maybe an exception or two like lihiue and Younguru would get in there.

Rarely, if ever, do we see the top 100 players venturing into the low/mid stakes.

If they were all bots, they’d be seen swarming all over the place.

The No Limit Texas Hold’em poker bots on other sites are designed to adapt to the playing style of their opponents. For example, the bots may call with a wider variety of hand ranges when playing against loose aggressive players. The bots may also fold more often when faced with raises from tight players. In order to play successfully against bots, it is important to realize that the bots do tend to adapt over time to the behavior of their opponents. If a player is going all-in every single hand, the bots will eventually notice this and call.

These bots are often used to ensure that games can continue even when there aren’t enough human players available. For example, sites like MiddlePair and CardRobot.io offer free poker games where you can play against bots12.

For true evidence that Replay doesn’t use bots, Replay’s Step to 1 Million had very long

wait times for the step 4 tables. If they used bots, this is where it would be noticed the most.

AI has significantly advanced the capabilities of poker bots, making them more sophisticated and challenging to play against. Here are some key points about AI in poker bots:

How AI Enhances Poker Bots

  1. Machine Learning: AI poker bots use machine learning algorithms to analyze vast amounts of poker data. They learn from previous games to improve their decision-making processes1.
  2. Game Theory: These bots apply game theory to evaluate the best possible moves based on the current state of the game and the potential actions of opponents1.
  3. Strategic Adaptation: AI bots can adjust their strategies in real-time, making them more adaptable and harder to predict compared to traditional bots1.

Applications and Implications

The guest* accounts are people playing via the cardsplayer website. That allows you play without registering or logging in, but only on the Amsterdam Square tables if I’m remembering correctly.

Anybody using the mobile app can play without setting up an account. The player is assigned a “guestxxxxx” username and can continue to play under that account as long as they keep the app and do not delete the app data. The account is tied to the device and app. I believe one may convert the guest account to a regular account if one desires.

Bots or not, some people act like bots.
What I find disturbing is the propensity to sit in a 5/10 or 10/20 table and make EVERY hand 100 or 150.
If you want 100 a hand, go to a 50/100 table.
Why do you sit at a 10/20 table and bet 100 every single hand?

We do not have bots. We also do not prevent people from putting “bot” in their username.

@lihiue and @das32343 are correct that we have guest accounts coming from CardsChat and the mobile app that will get a generic guest username – those are all real players as well.

Replay may not use bots but lately there has been a large number of players playing the same way with the last second decisions. Very annoying showing play down for no reason. I could write a bot that could manipulate this ui. It is not unreasonable
