Freudenfreude is a made-up word, a take-off on another real German word. This new word has been coined to mean, “Happiness in another’s good fortune.” (The other word, by contrast, is happiness in another’s misfortune. Only bad people indulge in that other emotion, one would assume.)
Are there moments during poker games when you experience freudenfreude? I am happy when I see someone who has played hard and well with tough cards suddenly catch a break and land a big pay-out. How about you?
