Today’s results.
I would like to say a couple of things about tonight’s game. It is the inaugural game of Just Jenny’s Jousting and even though it is the beginning of something very special to most, if not all, of us… there will be no added chips or commentary. I do not want to take anything away from what is being done to honour and memorialize Jenny Gentry through a special MTT that will be held on September 20th.
Just Jenny’s Jousting was designed to mimic Jenny’s preference for having the duration of games not exceed one hour, this also happens to be my preference. Jenny, I believe, felt to some degree that… what was fun for the first hour, can become a chore after the break. Jenny valued her time when not online very much, consequently she made it possible for others to not spend more time playing in a game than was needed to have a fun, fair and competitive game with others of similar character.
Congratulations to today’s winners in Dynamic Duos … MONKEYzBUzINEz … Deeper Purple … Snails. One more regular season game and then the Championship game on September 22nd.
Regarding next week’s Dynamic Duos match-ups… only two of them have significance in terms of the Playoff. Ad Infinitum will be in the final for sure because with the bye on Sunday they will have nine points which can not be surpassed, only equalled. The big looming question is which Team will join them. If Monkey Biz wins two points then they will face Ad Infinitum. If the Bananas win [one or two points] then they will face Ad Infinitum. They will be playing each other on this coming Sunday.
Purple has a shot but only if they achieve a two point win and… Monkey Biz gets a one point win. The result would be three Teams in second place with seven points each all having the same number of wins and two point wins. This would necessitate a six seat Playoff Game between the three Teams in order to determine which one will face Ad Infinitum in the Final.
Lastly… if Purple does not get two points and Monkey Biz wins one point, then the Bananas and Monkey Biz will have to play again, in order to determine who will face Ad Infinitum in the Final. This is as each will have seven points with both having the same number of wins and two point wins.
I have no clue if these potential outcomes existed in the previous seasons of Dynamic Duos, this is exclusively because I was not involved then, to the extent that I am now. It caught my eye, so I figured that if everyone knew how crucial Sunday’s games will be to three of the six that will play, the added drama would generate greater interest in watching it unfold in real time.
