I really don’t like the updated feature, and tbh I’m kind of shocked this made it past the dev team. I would think it was trivially obvious that players (ok speaking for myself but I can’t imagine most disagree) want a LINEAR REPRESENTATION of their remaining time to act.
In the past, you could look at the timer and immediately know roughly how much time you had left to act, because it would gradually run down and you could watch the bar depleting from right to left as the color changes from green to yellow to red.
Now we get X seconds of solid green, Y seconds of solid yellow, and only in the last few moments[quote=“Younguru, post:1, topic:49631, full:true”]

I am trying to presume good faith but honestly my first thought was “oh, they want people to lose their chips faster” because I can’t fathom how anyone thinks this would be a user-friendly update. The new timer is MUCH worse and I think it’s trivially observable that it makes it HARDER for players to know how long they have to act.
Am I alone here?
Like a baseball player stepping into the batter’s box, looking for a fastball, the same
applies here on Replay Poker.
In most cases, the decision making is instantaneous.
So, I doubt many would notice the change in the timer.
To be honest, I didn’t notice it.
I did have a couple close calls, but the timer didn’t run out.
So, I did notice that, but still had no idea the timer changed until this posting.

I noticed right away because often in tournaments, I like to place my bets with the same pacing to avoid timing tells. Well, now to do that I have to wait until a color change happens because there is no way to know what “the same time” is within the static band of green
@Younguru
The action timer has not changed, as far as I am aware.
Are you seeing something new in ring or tournaments, or both?
When observing a table, or playing, I see the same depleting from right to left timer for the player making their turn.
Maybe it is browser specific? I tried Chrome and Edge.
Rob.
wow really? that is interesting. I am using my iPad more than usual, maybe I will compare to the desktop. hm!
@Chasetheriver this is what I am seeing running Chrome on iPad:
None of the colored bars deplete except the final red one

I will raise it with Tech and see if it is a recent bug or side effect of something else being changed,

Worked as normal for me… PC, chrome based browser.

@Younguru
I asked Support and they tested and say Chrome on iPad for them is fine.
They wonder if its some sort of lag / refresh issue.
Could it be the old ‘reboot and start over bug?’
Not heard from Tech yet,
Rob

yeah I’ve been timing out a lot too though it’s better this morning than it was last night. i am constantly refreshing, have restarted my device, and cleared browsing data/cache/cookies.
thanks for the follow-up!
