Design Complaints of a Newish Player

Warning, this is a bit of a complaint thread. If you don’t like them you don’t have to read. If I’m wrong about anything that’s fine with me. To me the most frustrating part of Replay isn’t necessarily losing but losing and then having to deal with questionable design choices by Replay on top of that. It feels like I constantly have to fight the game to do what I want to. Here are a couple design choices I take issue with; 1.) The inability to cash in a certain amount of chips while still playing. The only way to do so is to quit then rejoin. When clicking the play now it doesn’t automatically give you the minimum amount of chips. I don’t know about you but most of the time I want to play just the minimum. You can click “open table” but most of the time you are clicking “play now” because the room is packed and you need to squeeze in quickly. 2.) When you lose all your chips and put more in you have to quickly press “sit in” otherwise, you don’t get to play next hand. I don’t understand this because I feel like if I’m putting more chips in, I want to play. Making me sit out and waste time feels bad. This is one I can kind of understand… I assume it’s to stop bingo players from just getting back into the game after being punished. However people can just add chips before they lose a hand. Making it a bit redundant. Finally 3.) I don’t like the big warning on the fold button. I don’t think I have ever not once accidently pressed the fold button. Only buttons I’ve pressed accidently was the call. Sometimes I just want to end it cause I know I don’t have a winning hand. But the warning makes it harder than it has to be. So, thoughts? Do these things bother you too or are they not a big deal? I still think Replay is one of the best Poker sites in terms of design. Also sorry about the tag I wasn’t sure what category this would be. I suppose it is feedback in way.

ANY place, online cash, casinos etc…you cannot cash in and sit back at the same table unless you put up what you had before cashing out–unless you leave for a certain amount of time…

It seems like a lot of your issues can be solved by just having a bit more patience. If you always choose “Open Table” then you can set your buy in and also set it to auto reload so you won’t get sat out. Also, you really shouldn’t be folding hands when you can check (which seems to be what you’re referring too?).
It’s a free poker site, it’s fine to be playing just for fun and trying to get as many hands in as possible - but if you care at all about developing your skills, probably the most important ability you can have in this game is being patient.

  1. I NEVER use “play now” for the reasons you describe. Waiting to play Ring is normal; you may want to adjust your expectations. I often have to join the Waitlist to get into the game I want. It is frustrating, but to me it’s not worth buying in for something other than the amount I would choose myself.

  2. Use “Automatic Top-Up” in the chips settings when you sit down; this will buy you back in immediately.

  3. This does seem an odd complaint! You would like to fold when you aren’t facing a bet, and you think the site shouldn’t prompt you that you could check instead because “it makes it harder than it has to be” to fold? I can’t imagine deciding to fold and then taking another action because of an auto-generated prompt, but to each his own

Thanks for replies guys. I didn’t know about the top up. But won’t it top me up to the max amount? Or will it be the minimum? With the 3rd I just want to get to the next hand. Checking is a lot faster than the prompt. I guess I just want to the option to disable the thing.

I agree, user should be able to toggle the warning on/off.
You get to set the auto top-up to the amount you desire

Thanks. Bit off topic here but… Some of the achievements for “Making waves” and “on the other hand” aren’t being given to me. Are they brokey or did I not meet the requirements

As suggested by poki:

Ch3ck SETTINGS from main lobby! I suggest always auto buy in.

Mostly use the open table as suggested by young but occasionally if needed click play now. The standard 125BB is good, & optimal in most cases IMO. Maybe play lower stakes?

U can use auto top up for the buy in amount. If u buy in for min 50bb u always start a hand w 50bb min amount. U can also do it for the max 200bb.

Yep, patience will win you more chips ( or cash ) then anything i know.
