I frequently look at Reddit Poker and absolutely enjoy the content. I think we can make this forum an awesome place just like that, but to obtain that we need more hand analysis, topics that aren’t just bad beats, and cool suggestions to continue popping up, who else is in?

We’re definitely in! =)

What sort of content would you like to see more of on the forums? What are your favorite poker topics?

Sorry for the slow response, definitely think we need more hand analysis, maybe even its own section, and just start taking the few regular posters I’ve seen and build this forum into more of a community than somewhere to complain about bad beats, was hoping people would see this post and start to post more quality content.

Would be nice post the hand from the table directly.

Why are players that have millions of chips allowed to play in MTT for 2k or 5k? Seems that they have so many chips that they just bet wildly to get other players out quicker. Just seems that they should play in there own league?

Why? In real, did you look in the oponents pocket?

I don’t follow the logic in this. If the buy-in is 5k everyone pays 5k and starts with 5k. If someone plays well they will win and get more chips or if they play like a donk they will lose their chips and get knocked out. Having a bankroll in the millions makes no difference to this as it can’t be taken to the table and used to chip bully the short-stacks.
I find playing against players with bigger banks than me to be very interesting and educational.(Mostly they got to be big stacks for a reason) How often do they fold pre-flop, how do they play position, do they bluff, what is their bet sizing play etc etc.

To go back to thenam comment i agree. I have had my stack up high and have to drop back to try to recover. I go to a S@G game just to get some chips to play with and see high stake players (my understanding is u r rated by your current chip count) in 500/1000/2000 turbo games. For what reason would u play these games if u have a high amount of chips??? Just asking.

@Mick-123
Surprisingly, there are many reasons for a high stakes player to a play low stakes tourney. It may be that a group of their friends are low stakes players and they decided to play a tourney for bragging rights amongst themselves. It may be that no other tourney was starting at a suitable time. Possibly the tourney was of a variety seldom played by them so they limit the risk to gain experience. There is also a chance that they are planning a casino trip and want a quick tune up game with a variety of game styles. A home game planned for the weekend is another thought. Maybe they just bought/were gifted a bunch of chips and have no idea what they are doing (please please please let me find someone like that lol). Others simply find a seat and play. Some play live pub/club games for charity and find the skill and experience level at low stakes tourneys to be more akin to a Thursday night pub slugfest.
There is also the question ,that if you were “up high” why ain’t you still…

I have been playing poker for a long time and things never change. If you play enough,
everything that you think can’t happen ,will. I have seen it all over the last seventy years.
From the same guy winning huge on consecutive Friday nights with Royal flushes, to back to back four Deuces cleaning house.Yup, there are bad beats, nasty stinkin’ rivers, crappy flops, pocket rags, but remember these few things to ease your pain.
Your good luck is someone else’s bad luck. Your bad beat was someone else’s “coup”,
and if you are patient, it all evens out. Ask any poker pro, everybody goes bust, but what you do next is what matters.

Well said, my ‘brother’ in geezerhood… :>))

Couldn’t have said it better myself…

Bein’ one of ‘them’, (relatively) (all things are relative:) you said it well… My reasons for the ‘low stakes tourneys’ are two-fold: one, I’m here to relax - don’t the stress of having to pay too much attention because there’s a lot of chips on the line plus, and probably more important - I’m not here to accumulate chips - my manhood is not enhanced one iota by my chip stack or lack of it…

Then again, I used to be a ‘kid’ (lol), so I get it… Priorities… The bottom line is always gonna be “WTF???”…
