Athletes pay close attention to the way they fuel their bodies before and during events. Brain work needs fuel too! What do you eat/drink before hand or during intense poker games?
Easy answer for me: California almonds.
Granola bars, LOL. usually, two.
Oh, now THIS looks promising!
Water consumption is key for performance in all areas. Having a small meal that is light in protein an hour before an activity seems helpful. Being older I add a Coffee before the start for that bit of pep. Water or mild tea during the game. I am a huge fan of Coconut oil for many great reasons. The best source of (mct) medium chain fatty acids… Pure brain food and inflammation fighter. Try it for few days at every meal. yw
Thank you Gulf. Adding coconut oil to my grocery list.
They say fish is brain food, but most fish seem really dumb to me, so I don’t eat it. I mean, really, they keep falling for the old “swimming worm” trick, and don’t even notice that it’s on a hook tied to a long piece of string. When was the last time you saw a worm go for a swim? Fish are pretty stupid, if you ask me.
I usually drink a nice cold can of Coke. This isn’t really food per se, but it makes it so I don’t want to go take a nap in the middle of the game. I find that being awake helps my game a little.
Beer. Never coffee, as I usually play before going to bed.
I would like Cheetos, but that would involve an orange track ball. ;/
Welcome to the Forums! I’d say Cheetos win, whatever the cost!
Primal Instincts, don’t eat
Irish Whiskey, Jameson Caskmates most recently.
Another round means more than the button has gone around the table again. Sometimes I cant even find the button.
Fair warning, as in any long athletic competition, build up to it, otherwise in a prolonged MTT you might experience what I term THE big blind.
And always remember, dont drive while playing poker. It is against the law in most jurisdictions.
This public service announcement is much appreciated, Pueblo!
