I enjoyed watching you and dwilliams vie for top spot during the game, so its fun to see this face-off between you two. Well played. You’re my hero, Sassy! (Well, one of my heroes!)

This one was fun Hand #310966256

you had 2 pair. the other 2 had str8’s.

the A is in general the higherst card, but in str8’s the A can also be used as the 1. it’s still the lowest possible str8, but it works.

another side idea that might help you is if you get a good hand but vulnerable hand, to bet bigger. this way you scare people out of the way with draws normally. but in this table they love to call, at least you get way more value that way in the long term, because they chase their draws unprofitable if they call.
the reason this hand is so vulnerable is because even while you got top pair, it’s only 5 high. so almost any card will be higher and give opponents a possible highter pair. there are also str8 and flushdraws on the board, so you need to also get these away.
a good betsize is always different according to every situation, but to make a good protection bet, start with a general rule of about 70% of the pot, this will do the trick in most cases.

Most replays are Hold’em … here’s a recent Omaha HiLo Ring hand ( yay it held up )

(not proudest, but play’d ok, and it held up.) (my buyin was 105,000)

This was a pretty tough call. His line didn’t really make a lot of sense and prior history told me that he thought he could get me to fold by overbetting. My hand was one of the weakest hands I would consider calling with, though it was one of the strongest top pairs I could have in this spot.

Watching my saved hands, I noticed how many of the high stakes players I was up against are now ranked outside of the top 10,000.

That was a tough call, mostly because of the meh kicker but his line made zero sense. Weak min raise preflop so not thinking QQ+ or AQ+ and the c-bet into that board looked like a little something but below top pair. Turn was a nothing so what is he repping, a set of 2’s? Nice job.

Lots of movement - seen people rocket up and right back down again. Variance can make anyone a star, for a brief period. Consistency and growth over time says more about the player than absolute bankroll at any given time. One is a movie and the other a snapshot.

This one is from a couple of days ago. My luckiest hand. I wanted to try something different and hopped on to the Acropolis of Athens ring game. I started to realize that I was a little “out of my league”, everybody else at the table had substantial bankrolls, and I ended up playing with all I had. But then I got lucky, got a set of nines at the flop. Heading up against a flush and a straight, I got saved by the river. Biggest pot I ever won!

Appreciate comments on the play of this hand. My biggest pot ever. No idea if I played it reasonably OK or not. I had AK off; my unhappy opponent had A8 off.

The table play had been a bit loose, and I’d lost a sizable pot a little earlier to someone slow-playing trips. My idea in general is that AK is not a made hand, so I don’t get my hopes too high. I called the pot. Conservative or stupid?

So the flop comes down and I’ve got trip A’s, and I say to myself, “Self, what the hell. Let’s try slow-playing this one.” Cunning or stupid?

Jurks checks his full house (we’ve both got the same idea), I make a minimum bet, and watch in dismay as two of the remaining three players fold. I was hoping for a big raise that I could re-raise. Jurks raises me to 2.5 BB’s, and I re-raise because I think I have a fish on the line. He comes back strong, and I’ve been snookered again (at least to this point) by somebody slow-playing me. My K kicker isn’t worth the pixels it’s made of.

The king on the turn gave me the nut hand, and there’s nothing more to do than keep the mouse far away from the “Fold” button. Jurks forced me all in on the turn, so there was no bet-sizing decision necessary.

My opponent had some surly words for me after the hand. I don’t blame him. He was being stalked, was really the stalker, but reverted to being the prey before the river card.
